Given the current situation with COVID-19, I want to reassure you that we have a number of ways to communicate, share information and provide complete services to your family at Erie Memorial Gardens and Kingsville Memorial Gardens.
Presently, the mausoleum at Erie Memorial Gardens is closed and will be open for entombments only.
We are using safety protocols, beginning immediately, our employees will not engage in physical contact such as handshakes and hugs with one another or members of the public. Whenever possible, they will observe a 6-foot distance. Our staff will also be wearing gloves, and in some cases masks.
During this period, we will focus on providing essential services, which means our top priority will be to those families who have experienced a death.
We encourage individuals to defer non-essential services to a later date.
If you need to purchase a plot, niche, crypt or make arrangements for a service at Erie Memorial Gardens in Leamington or Kingsville Memorial Gardens on Division Road North in Kingsville, please call 519-564-6506 to make an appointment. We have also made arrangements that you can also contact Reid Funeral Home in Leamington at 519-326-2631 and they will be able to assist you at this time of need.
We are working on an online option.
We will encourage social distancing at grave side and in the mausoleum
We ask that you avoid expressions of sympathy like handshaking, hugging and other direct physical contact with your guests.
For lot interments and crypt entombments, casketed remains will be placed on a cemetery device or carriage, committal prayers will be completed, if requested, and thereafter patrons will be invited to leave - allowing our staff to complete the interment or burial.
There will be no witnessing for the time being.
This decision has been made based on the information provided through local, provincial and national health agencies and will be updated as the situation evolves.
Take care, be safe. We are all in this together.
